The Piedmont Silver Eagles, Inc. is a non-profit organization formed under IRS Code 501 (c)(7). No part of the organization's net earnings may benefit any person having a personal and private interest in the activities of the organization. For purposes of this requirement, it is not necessary that net earnings be actually distributed.
The objectives of the Piedmont Silver Eagles, Inc. are as follows:
Our first objective is to continue the close friendships and associations of our participating members.
Our second and most important set of objectives are the support and funding of the Piedmont Silver Eagles Charitable Funds, Inc. The Piedmont Silver Eagles Charitable Funds, Inc. is a subsidiary of the Piedmont Silver Eagles, Inc. The Piedmont Silver Eagles Charitable Funds, Inc. is involved in the community in many ways through the promotion and education of the public about the history of Piedmont Airlines. Through our work with the North Carolina Transportation Museum and other museums, we hope to leave a legacy for all of our members that will live on long after we are all gone. We also promote aviation education to children and young adults, provide scholarships for higher education on a limited basis and provide humanitarian assistance to people in need.
